Public Comment

Earlier in the week, I told all of you about the big changes in store for our family.  I received such lovely comments and e-mails that I wanted to take the time to respond and say thank you.  I began to post in the "comments" section but that seemed somehow insufficient.  So, I am making my comment in a separate post.  It's my blog.  I can do that.

Thanks to all of you for your support and perspective.  It really was helpful.

When I sat down to write that post, I was in a place of stress and disappointment.  I floundered as to where to begin my narrative.  "God, help me!!!  I'm moving into my mother-in-law's attic!" came to mind.  But after staring at the computer for awhile, and chucking a couple of horrid drafts, the story presented itself clearly.  I was reminded of our origins, our original plans as a couple and a family, and I decided to tell the story from the beginning.  It did me a world of good.  And far more interesting (or at least less depressing) reading.

The reality is this.  We have always planned to leave California, but, with the economy being what it is, Hubband never would have quit his job to move.  Jonah starts kindergarten in the fall and Hubband will soon take the bar in Washington, so the timing is almost perfect.  And, it is a lovely place we will be moving too.

This is (in the long term) a good thing.  Writing it all down helped.  Your comments and e-mails helped too.

The photos are from Hubband's collection of "pictures of home."  You really should click on them to see them larger.  They are beautiful.

  1. Ah, fields and fields of tulips. Have you ever walked down the rows? You have to, to get the experience of just how many individual flowers there really are!
I'm glad the experience of 'writing it out' helped you see things more clearly.

  5. I didn't realize you were moving. :O I must have missed your original post. Change is always hard and I am most certainly not a fan of change. Let's suffice to say that I'm wishing you and your family the best and I can't wait to read the stories you guys have in store for us. ;)
