Theme Thursday, Polka-dots

Theme Thursday -- Polka-Dots

I must be psychic.  My post from last Thursday featured polka-dots.  It is a fable for the new year, featuring a girl named Mia who lives in a polka-dotted toadstool.  You can check it out here.

For this Thursday, I offer the following.

My Grandma Dorothy, and my Aunt Dorothy used to have an accordion band called the Polka Dots.

  3. I agree with Brian. It really was a great tale. And the band! Isn't it fabulous how these memes bring out so much wonderful personal history?

  4. I love the tale, very well done. I can't tell you how much less tired I feel now that I gave up worrying if my house was "perfectly clean" Good luck in two thousand and then

  13. I had to smile hugely seeing your comment on my blog and am so glad you came to it to see these vids after what must be yonkers, if you;ve even ever seen them before. I loved Strawberry Switchblade too but never owned their stuff as I was a teen like you. Rather than retype what I wrote on my comment to you on my blog, here it is again for your convenience:

Wow, how nice--someone who actually knows of them too--and in California--even more surprising. Being in London it was from the weekly show, Top of the Pops where we heard of them. Tracey, nice to meet you. If you go their blog you can read some great later interviews with Rose and Jill.

You know what is funny too is we both drew polka dotted mushrooms. :)

  14. Funny too, I now note that your hubs wanted you to have a place to write instead of talk so much, as did my wife for smae reason and thus i began to blog.

  15. Yes, Tracey do please sign-up for CT Cheerio theme. Correct, photography alone is not included. As a side embellishment, that would be fine. Imagine and enjoy! Love to see what add and will then add your name and work to my side bar for others to enjoy and encourage. Thank you.

  17. I love the Polka Dots band. I bet they played polka songs and as The Mistress said, their nicknames were probably Dot, since 2 of them were Dorothys.
Your mushroom drawing does remind me of Mr. Toast. I guess great minds think alike : )
